Hot on the heels of their strong beer event at the end of February, Slater’s 50/50 in Lake Forest is offering up an even bigger event this Saturday with their 2nd Annual Backyard Brewfest. Having experienced my first taste of Slater’s “excesstacy” during the strong beer event (think fried bacon, pizza poutine, and barrel-aged barley wine), I was excited to hear about this weekend’s Brewfest, which will feature over 40 brewery participants from SoCal and beyond, plus complimentary food from the restaurant’s menu! Several local breweries will be represented (some of which haven’t even officially opened yet), including Beach City Brewing, Hoparazzi, Old Orange, Valiant, Bottle Logic, Cismontane, and Bootlegger’s. Notable out-of-towners include Rough Draft, Saint Archer, Ninkasi, Speakeasy, and more.

Where: Slater’s 50/50 Lake Forest parking lot (24356 Swartz Drive, Lake Forest)
What: Unlimited food and drink samples until they run out, plus a free commemorative tasting glass
Why: In addition to the fact that there will be awesome beer and food served, the event also goes towards a good cause… In partnership with the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce, Slater’s 50/50 will provide proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Forest, 4 H Superstars, Soroptimist and South County Outreach.
